Gardening
Our Farm is lucky enough to have a beautiful South facing green house, large polytunnel and ten fabulous wheelchair friendly raised garden beds, all surrounded by our picturesque farm land. Our visitors will be amongst nature during all seasons when doing their garden activities. Sowing the seeds, watering, planting, harvesting and bed preparing are some of the activities for our visitors to get “their hands dirty” and have some fun.
From harvesting a pumpkin to carving it, or picking some tomatoes to snack on there’s always something in the garden where our visitors have felt a huge sense of achievement, being proud of their work and connecting with each other by working as part of a team. The Barn has lots of space for our visitors to get into gardening whatever the weather. Making flower arrangements, mint ice cream and getting all the dandelion leaves for the rabbits there is a continuous work circle for everyone to get stuck into. We try and encourage daily outdoor gardening activities for all our visitors, since being outdoors has been proven to massively reduce stress, enhance energy and provide a wonderful sense of happiness.
