Animal Care
Here at Avenbury there isn't a part of our Farm where you won't be greeted by one of our beautiful animals. With paddocks full of sheep, alpacas, goats, pigs and cows and indoor enclosures with rabbits, Guinee pigs, love birds, chickens and even stick insects we have so many friendly rescued animals here ready to help our guys feel content, whilst spending their day here on the Farm. Our animals really help to support our visitors' well-being and boost their physical health and social skills. Our daily jobs are ranging from helping to muck out the animal pens, feeding and making sure their water buckets are full to having some time to sit and relax with a rabbit or guinea pig and going for a walk to visit our animals. All of which massively helps our visitors' health and happiness, reducing depression and stress levels. Our visitors do love getting stuck in with all the animal-related jobs available.
Some of our visitors have formed a lovely bond with one or two of our animals, this is truly something special as our visitors will have a sense of achievement coming to visit their animals, making sure they are okay and looked after. The wellbeing benefits of this are great and positively enhance our visitors’ mood levels by reducing loneliness and depression.
